We have many everyday experiences which we might be able to use to our advantage, or in which we can find inspiration to help us with our financial situation.
Here are just a few examples, but if you keep an eye out you might be thinking outside the box and perhaps making a lot of financial headway.
- Relaxation—use budgeting as an excuse to give yourself a mini-holiday. Get a babysitter if you need one and plan to have a relaxed, quiet meal with a favourite movie or music. Many people find music to be inspirational so you might find a way to improve your financial situation while you are more relaxed and able to think creatively.
- Mental exercises—there are some video games, usually on handheld devices, which have been proven to help thought processing and also mathematical skills. Even if you are a mathematical genius it might help to get a programme like that and play for about fifteen minutes before you decide to look at your financial situation.
- Find resources—no matter what your finances look like, there is probably someone who has been in a similar situation or one that is worse. If you search online and talk to trusted friends and relatives, they may be able to offer you extremely valuable information to help you out of your financial situation.
- Counselling—if you are feeling hopeless and helpless about your banking and you are not sure what to do, you can find an advisor to take a fresh look at your financial situation.
