Ellison splits from fiance

Former 'Brookside' star Jennifer Ellison has split from fiancé Tony Richardson.

The blonde actress is said to have called time on the couple's romance after a string of blazing rows.

Richardson was allegedly fed up of the star leaving him at home while she jetted to the US, where she is trying to boost her career, and felt insecure about their relationship.

A friend is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "They've been having problems for a while. Tony always wanted to be involved with Jennifer's job so he knew what was going on.

"He hated being left out. He knows she's a gorgeous girl and there are hundreds of blokes queuing up to try and pull her. But he can't be there 24/7."

The source added: "She tried to smooth things over at Christmas by buying him a second hand Porsche. But not even a flash car could stop him feeling insecure.

"Things cane to a head and Jen told him she'd given him enough chances and that they should split up."
