Here is the first look at actress Danniella Westbrook reprising her role as EastEnders' Sam Mitchell.

Westbrook returned to the soap last month as the original Mitchell sister after it was announced earlier in the year that she was to play the character again after nine years.

Sam arrives on the Square in September, much to the shock of her family and old friends, such as ex-husband Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen).

She was last seen in the EastEnd on the run to Brazil after she became a suspect in Den Watt's murder trail.

Westbrook first appeared on screen as Sam in as a 15-year-old schoolgirl in 1990 and played her until 2000.

The character was reintroduced in 2002; however, she was played by Kim Medcalf, who left in 2005.
