Fans are not loving the new series of Dragon’s Den due to its X Factor-style makeover. Those watching the show’s return on Sunday said that the move seemed to be a cynical ploy to ramp up the ratings.
One business wannabe Farnaz Khan cried several times as she tried to stay in the game. While sobbing, she said: “Everything I do is for my children.”
The voice over then talked about her “tough upbringing” and how she suffered from extreme poverty.
Another one who was looking for investment for his yoga exercise equipment cried even more.
Weeping in front of the camera, he said: “My parents inspire me, my father inspire me.”
He then cried in front of the Dragons too. “Its been tough...i became jobless, penniless and homeless in the process,” he blubbed.
Viewers weren’t impressed.
Cat Hughes said: “To many tears on Dragons Den - it’s not the bloody X factor.”
Luke Sharma said: “ Sob stories left, right and centre.”
Michael Devlin added: “Is it just me or has Dragons Den turned into the X Factor for business? It’s clearly entertainment first and business second.”
