At least 38 people have died local officials have said after a bus has come off the road in Southern Italy. It is understood that at least 10 people have been injured also as a result of the incident.
The bus is understood to have had passengers on board returning back to Italy. Reports say that the bus hit a number of other vehicles before going through a barrier and plunging off the road into a ravine.
A spokesperson for the fire service said that 11 people were rescued from the bus and taken to hospital.
It was not known at the time if there were any other people who had survived or who were unaccountable for.
It is believed the incident happened not far from Monteforte Irpino, which is in Irpinia.
It is not known what caused the incident. There will be investigation carried out.
Monteforte Irpino is situated in the Campania region.
