Denise Richards has revealed her split from husband Charlie Sheen has sent her into a spiral of depression.

The stunning actress filed for divorce from the Hollywood hellraiser in March after three years of marriage - amid allegations the star had cheated on her with prostitutes.

Richards, 34, has now been left to bring up the couple's two daughters, 15-month-old Sam and new arrival Lola, alone and admits she is finding it a struggle.

She said: "Life is what it is. I just have to make the best of it. The split was the hardest decision of my life.

"I never in a million years thought I would be in the position I am today."

The beautiful brunette, who still refuses to give details as to why she brought divorce proceedings against Sheen, admits the split has left her devastated.

Richards claims some days she feels so low she can barely function, but has to stay positive for the sake of her children.

She told American magazine Us Weekly: "Right now, I'm thinking about being a good mom.

"I have many moments where I'm not feeling brave. But at home, I have two girls to now focus on. I have to put on a brave face. I have to take care of them, be happy and keep things positive. It's really important."
