David Beckham, the 38-year-old football star, is set to retire from football it has emerged on Thursday, 16th May, 2013. He will begin his retirement at the end of this season.
The news comes after Beckham went to Paris Saint-Germain Football Club at the start of this year.
Beckham said: “I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level.”
During his football career Beckham, or Becks as he is often called by some, has been England captain and has played for his country 115 times.
While he was with Manchester United F.C. the club won numerous Premier League titles, among others.
Beckham went on to play for Real Madrid a decade ago, before playing for LA Galaxy soccer team.
The star has four children with wife Victoria; Brooklyn, Harper, Cruz and Romeo.
