Following heavy rain that led to floods at the music event, Creamfields Festival was officially cancelled. Some parts of the arena and the campsite were flooded, leading to organisers deciding to call-off the event. 

 

Officials have announced that they will make a decision about ticket refunds later this week. 

 

The announcement reads: “After a very difficult weekend, we ask you all to please be patient a little longer. A refund announcement will be available shortly.”

 

The fans who wish to have tickets refunded were advised to visit the Creamfields website for updates. 

 

Disappointed fans were told on Sunday morning not to travel to the event, which was supposed to be held in Daresbury, Cheshire.

 

Unfortunately for those who left home early, they had no choice but to go back home without seeing acts such as Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, and Sub Focus, all of whom were due to perform last Sunday night. 

 

Event organisers spent their Sunday coordinating with Cheshire Police to ensure all those fans who were already on the site could get home safely. No casualties have been reported. 

 

Natasha Salmon, 20, chose to leave the festival on Sunday morning due to the poor weather conditions. She told the BBC: “It was a complete wash-out.”

 

Her friend, Charlotte Neal, 20, also expressed her disappointment as reported by the BBC: “I’m gutted. We’ve missed Deadmau5. We’ve missed Calvin Harris and all the acts that we wanted to see.”
