New Bond villain Mads Mikkelsen thinks Daniel Craig could be the best 007 ever.
The Danish actor - who has been cast as villian Le Chiffre in 'Casino Royale' - also believes the 'Layer Cake' star's talents are being "underestimated".
He told website FilmFocus.co.uk: "Daniel is a fantastic Bond and I think he's actually going to be the Bond for this generation.
"People are really underestimating him but they're going to be surprised. It's going to be a great film. There's a great atmosphere on set."
When Craig was cast as the iconic British spy, replacing Pierce Brosnan, Bond enthusiasts were so outraged by the decision they set up a website - craignotbond.com - condemning the choice and urging moviegoers to boycott the remake.
Mikkelsen admits he feels honoured to be given his role.
He explained: "Orson Welles played the part before me - that's huge!
"Le Chiffre is a greedy man who wants a lot of money.
"He's not trying to take over the world, he's just greedy. I think people can relate to him. He's a baddie, basically, but very human."
