Courteney Cox and David Arquette are trying for a baby boy.

The star couple are desperate to have a brother for their one-year-old daughter, Coco.

Courteney, who recently revealed she would consider adopting, admits she had second thoughts about trying to conceive another child after suffering two tragic miscarriages before Coco was born.

But she claims she and husband David believe it is worth taking the risk.

She told America's USA Today newspaper: "I look at Coco and say, 'I'm blessed. Why mess with this? Should I take any chances?'

"But we've got to try for a boy. We've got to have a little boy Arquette in the family."

Courteney recently revealed she is looking at different ways of extending her family.

The actress - whose 'Friends' character, Monica, adopted twin babies with husband Chandler - revealed: "Maybe I'll adopt, I definitely want another one, but I'm only having one more."

Meanwhile, doting dad David couldn't resist spoiling his baby daughter on her first birthday last month by filling her nursery with toys.

The actor, who fell for Courteney on the set of 'Scream', is also starting to teach Coco how to swim.
