Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have become parents for the third time, according to reports.

A source has told People magazine that the Hollywood pair welcomed a baby boy in Santa Monica earlier this week.

The pair already have two children together, Violet Anne, six, and Seraphina Rose, three.

In an interview with US chat show host Jay Leno back in January, 39-year-old Jennifer revealed that they knew the sex of the baby but "weren't telling".

When asked if Ben, 39, wanted a boy, she said:

"At first, I think, I really thought so. And then he kind of said, 'Well, we have girls. We know how to do girls. My girls love me. I'm the big guy in the house.' So, now I'm not sure."

The couple met on the set of the 2004 film Daredevil and married in 2005. They also appeared together in 2001 war film Pearl Harbour.

Garner previously said of her husband:

"Ben is sexy and kind, but he's also a riot. We can be very goofy together. He doesn't have trouble wiggling his way in anywhere. Ben is charm personified when he wants to be."
