This is the moment when Coronation Street's David Platt is left in a bloody state after being viciously attacked by a mystery assailant.

David, played by Jack P Shepherd, collapses slumped against the porch to be found by his mother Gail (Helen Worth), who is shocked to see him in a bruised and battered condition.

The tearaway teen has riled more than his fair share of residents on the Street over time. But the identity of his attacker will remain unknown until the end of August.

Potential suspects include his mother's partner, Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale), who is fed up with David's taunting.

David's ex-girlfriend Tina's (Michelle Keegan) new boyfriend Jason Grimshaw has been warring with him for some time and has disliked him since he was together with David's sister Sarah Louise.

Viewers can catch the bloody scenes on ITV at the end of next week.
