Soap spoiler alert! Coronation Street's Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) will commit suicide in an upcoming episode of the ITV soap.
A shakeup by the show's new producer Phil Collinsin saw the actress axed alongside some other stars.
However, before her character leaves the soap, a "a trail of devastation" will be revealed as her secret mean streak becomes quickly apparent.
Sources state that she will be left heartbroken when her engagement to lingerie seller Nick Owen goes wrong. Things go from bad to worse when when her bid to remove Audrey Roberts from the hair salon where she works also fails.
Rachel Leskovac has played Natasha for two years, but scriptwriters have not yet decided how she will take her life in scenes which are set to be screened in the autumn.
An insider said: “Viewers will be shocked by the storyline, but it will be handled with sensitivity."
The news of Leskovac's departure came just after soap couple Ashley and Claire Peacock (played by Steven Arnold and Julia Haworth) were revealed as other cast members who would be departing in the build up to the show's 50th anniversary in December.
