Stand-up comedian Harry Hill quit TV Burp in March after considering the decision and almost taking it back for quite some time. Now, he is planning a new project, which is said to be a movie about a bizarre road trip. Hill says the movie is inspired by the comedy Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure.
Harry described the film as ‘partly a road trip, with a sick hamster and some badgers involved, plus some songs and guest appearances’. He also said: “(It’s) the kind of thing I always do, but a bit longer and wider.”
In related news, Harry also called the EastEnders as the ‘perfect fodder’ for TV Burp, but that the show had become harder to make. He explained that it had something to do with a ‘new, knowing breed of shows, like The Only Way is Essex, where the jokes were already built in, and there was no leverage’ for the comedians.
Harry Hill also said: “Even Coronation Street became jokier.”
The comedian, however, was relieved that his nine-year stint ended on a high note and that they just ‘kind of exhausted it’.
He doesn’t seem to be in a rush to return to the tube, however, saying: “Following TV Burp is a bit like following Dark Side of the Moon. It’s got to be really, really good.”
