Clooney ageing fast

George Clooney was left stunned when a young admirer thought he was 50.

The 43-year-old Hollywood heartthrob said: "I was in Italy last year and a young girl said to me, 'Giorgio, how old are you?' And I was stupid enough to ask the question you should never ask, which is, 'Well, how old do you think I am?'

"She said, 'Feefty'. I said, 'You think I'm 50 years old!?' She said, 'Feefty-one?' I couldn't believe it!"

Meanwhile, George claims he will never run for the American presidency - because he's got too many skeletons in his closest.

The handsome star says he won't be following in the footsteps of fellow actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is now governor of California, because of his wild past.

He quipped to Britain's HotDog magazine: "Run for office? No. I've slept with too many women, I've done too many drugs, and I've been to too many parties!"

Clooney's dad, Nick, ran for Congress during the last election but was beaten.
