Church and Henson split

Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson have revealed they are to split, less than two months after publicly announcing their engagement.

The rugby star proposed to child actress/classical pop singer six weeks ago in April, but the celebrity pair have since decided to go their separate ways.

A source told the News of the World: "It is an incredibly sad state of affairs. Both Gavin and Charlotte are deeply distraught

"But after a lot of soul-searching, they realised this is the best course of action for them and the children. It was a mutual decision."

The pair were together for five years and have two children together - Ruby and Dexter.  
A spokeswoman confirmed the couple had split up, but declined to comment further.  

Church recently returned to TV as a judge on Andrew Lloyd Webber's talent show 'Over the Rainbow'. In the wake of the split, it has been reported that Henson jetted to Spain with friends.
