Strictly Come Dancing bosses are thinking of giving its next series a major boost, and they’re thinking of doing it by getting Chris Evans on board.
Chris, presenter at One Show, is one of the top names that the BBC is targeting with a huge deal. According to a source insider Strictly, Chris would make ‘a brilliant signing’.
“He is a TV legend and would bring his own brand of humour and charisma to the show, not to mention nine million Radio 2 fans and 5 million One Show fans.”
Chris has not officially signed on yet but the folks behind Strictly ‘have (their) fingers crossed.’
Chris currently brings in £500,00 a year as the presenter for The One Show, which he does with Alex Jones on Fridays. Last year, Alex had appeared on Strictly and even made it through to the semi-final. Sources say that Alex has ‘told Chris how much fun it was’. Strictly bosses hope the encouragement would give Chris more reason to consider their offer.
The next series of Strictly Come Dancing will kick off in September on BBC1. It will fight for audiences against ITV’s X Factor.
Prior to doing The One Show, Chris became popular on telly in his C4 shows including Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush back in the Nineties.
