Candice Stowe will fall at the talented feet of Coronation Street's latest Baldwin, it has emerged.

The Corrie stunner has nothing but contempt for Warren Baldwin, Danny's son, until she learns he is footballer.

Candice, played by Nikki Sanderson, brands Warren a "skinny Cockney creep" after their first meeting. She also says she would rather stick pins in her eyes than date him.

But things change after she learns he plays football for a living.

"Most women just want me 'cos I play football," Danny's son laments.

"They think that if they hang out with me I'll introduce them to David - you know, David Beckham!"

And that is more than enough to change Candice's mind.

"Her head is turned the moment she realises that he is a football star," a Street insider told the Daily Star today.

The soccer ace has played for England under-16s and is contracted to west London club Brentford.

"[Candice] thinks how jealous all her pals in the street will be. She fantasises what it would be like to be a footballer's wife, after reading the glossy mags in the hair salon and seeing the show on telly," the Star's source continues.
