A Clarence House spokeswoman has confirmed that Camilla was forced to cancel a number of engagements this week, after developing severe middle ear infection. This also involved her being advised not to fly down from Scotland, where she’s spending the summer with her husband, Charles, Prince of Wales.
“The Duchess of Cornwall has developed sinusitis and a severe middle ear infection over the last few days which means she will not be able to carry out her engagements in London this evening and tomorrow,” a Clarence House spokeswoman said.
Camilla was scheduled to attend the Classical Brit Awards on Tuesday night at the Royal Albert Hall. She was also expected to be at a catering college in London to celebrate National Community Meals week.
On Wednesday, she was reportedly scheduled to meet Madeline Mason at Clarence House, who was honoured for her volunteering work with the Guide Dogs Charity.
On Wednesday night – as reported by the BBC - she was expected to attend the charity screening of World War 1 film ‘Private Peaceful’, which stars Maxine Peake and Richard Griffiths.
