Bunton lands judging role

Singer Emma Bunton has joined the Dancing on Ice judging panel, it has been confirmed.

The former Spice Girl will replace Ruthie Henshall on the show, joining feisty Jason Gardiner and regulars Nicky Slater, Karen Barber and Robin Cousins.

Baby Spice follows in the footsteps of former bandmates and fellow reality TV judges Victoria Beckham (who judged in 'American Idol' and 'Project Runway') and Geri Halliwell (who helped choose acts in 'Popstars: The Rivals').

She said: Bunton says, "I'm so excited to be joining a show I have been a huge fan of since it began."

The singer will be the only judge without ice skating experience, but told 'This Morning': "I'm there for the performance, the connection with the audience, the choreography.

"I have been performing for a long time now. I just know what I want to see in a performance. That's going to be a big part of it for me. I can skate a little."

Bunton will be taking on the role in the new series of the ITV programme in January, which features former skating champions Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean.
