Welsh star receives CBE from Prince Charles...

Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has been made a CBE by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

The 41-year-old was recognised for services to the film industry and to charity in last year's Queen's Birthday Honours.

The Oscar-winner was accompanied by her husband Michael Douglas, and their children Dylan and Carys.

Zeta-Jones said that she was "absolutely thrilled" when she found out about the award last summer. She said:

"As a British subject I feel incredibly proud. At the same time it is overwhelming and humbling."

She also revealed to the Daily Mail that she had chatted to the Prince about her husband's health.

Douglas, who was diagnosed with throat cancer last year, revealed in January that his tumour is gone and he is beating the disease.

"Obviously we talked about Michael. The last time I saw His Royal Highness, Michael had just got his treatment so he was concerned, but he was very happy to hear... he's well on the road to recovery."

The former Darling Buds of May star has appeared in such films as The Terminal, The Mask of Zorro and Chicago, for which she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
