Bomb explodes near French embassy in Tripoli
The blast, which is thought to have been a car bomb, went off close to the embassy in Libya

A bomb has exploded near to France’s embassy in Tripoli, Libya, on Tuesday morning, 23rdApril, 2013. According to media reports, two French guards are believed to have been injured as a result of the blast.
It is believed that damage has been caused to buildings close to the area. There is speculation that the explosion is being linked to a supposed car bomb.
One source told Reuters; “We think it was a booby-trapped car."
Apparently the blast hit a wall surrounding the French embassy in the city.
It is understood that there will be an investigation carried out as to determine what has happened and who is behind the incident.
As reported by the BBC, the Foreign Minister for France Laurent Fabius said the explosion was an "odious act". He also confirmed that officials from France were acting alongside officials in Libya with regards to the matter.
Tripoli is Libya’s capital city, and is also understood to be one of its largest cities. It lies on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is situated in the north-west of the country.
