Big Brother bosses are lining up the craziest set of housemates for this summer's sixth series, the People reports.

The paper claims that a shortlist of 50 potential contestants includes a contortionist, a female porn star, a convicted car thief and two frisky pensioners.

Producers of the cult reality show also have two accountants vying to become this year's most boring resident.

Channel 4 bosses will be hoping the whacky new stars prove even more popular than previous memorable housemates such as nasty Nick Bateman and motor mouth Jade Goody.

"We've got a right bunch of nutters, basically," a Big Brother source told the People.

"They're a really varied group - from the very vocal to down-and-outs. The OAPs are hilarious and the female contortionist will bring a smile to the boys' faces."

"And the accountants could be the most infuriating stars ever - they really are dull people."

"Viewers can expect fireworks as these people won't get on at all."

The new series of the show will begin on May 27th, when the final 12 contestants selected will enter the Big Brother house.

Producers say that a record 25,000 people applied to take part in this year's show.
