Beer goggles: Having just one drink makes you look more attractive

Researchers at Bristol University found that drinking just one glass of an alcoholic beverage makes you more attractive.

Researchers at Bristol University found that having one drink can make you look more attractive.

The survey was participated by 40 students who were asked to drink different amounts of alcohol.

Pictures of them were taken while they were sober, after drinking a glass of wine and after drinking a second alcoholic drink.

Their appearance was later judged by their sober companion. The photos taken after the participants drunk one glass of wine were found to be more attractive.

'It suggests that, if it's true, people are rated as more attractive once they've consumed a small amount of alcohol,' the study's senior researcher, Marcus Munafò, told LiveScience.

'But if they go on to consume more alcohol, they're no longer rated as more attractive.'

Earlier this year, the same team of researchers put to test the “beer googles” effect, which describes how people find others more attractive after a few drinks. The study found that alcohol has indeed affected their perception of attractiveness.
