David Beckham is set to appear with Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Lopez in a new advert.

The England football captain has been taking lessons in wielding a Japanese Kendo sword as he prepared to come face-to-face with the R&B superstars.

The ad for Pepsi, due for international release next month, will see the Real Madrid footballer involved in a number of martial arts confrontations.

Beckham took part in an intensive two-week training programme for the commercial and was full of praise for the pair.

"These two girls have been amazing. They're known all around the world, and this has been an incredible experience for me," he said.
