It seems that Google accidentally cancelled Christmas when a bug thought to be affecting Android 4.2 devices, skipped the month of December all together. As a result, Android 4.2 users were unable to add important diary entries, which would probably include Christmas parties and get-togethers.
The app calendar skips from November to January.
Many people were reportedly not happy about the situation. Technology website CNET wrote: “Is Google the new Grinch who stole Christmas? Sure, the month of December can be expensive and stressful, but Google apparently has an app for avoiding it.”
Meanwhile, Business Insider, a business and entertainment news made a sarcastic comment saying: “The new version of Android thinks there are only 11 months in a year.”
Stuart Miles, editor of technology news and review website Pocket-Lint is less stressed about the situation, saying in a report by the BBC that: "If you're an early adopter you're affected by it, but they will rush out an update very quickly."
Google declined to comment but Android Police said that the issue has seemingly been noted by Android developers.
