Alba's virginity vow

Jessica Alba refused to have sex until she reached the legal age.

The pretty American actress - who got engaged to her first love, 'Dark Angel' co-star Michael Weatherly, when she was just 18 - says she was determined to remain a virgin until she was seen as an adult in the eyes of the law, despite being tempted to sexually experiment.

She revealed: "I think I was ready to have an adult relationship when I was 16, but it's illegal in the States to be intimate with anyone over 18 if you're younger. I'm someone who lives by the rules."

Alba, who is currently starring in comic-book action film 'Fantastic Four', also revealed she only wanted to lose her virginity to someone she was in love with.

The sexy star wanted her first sexual experience to be with someone special because all her friends were left disappointed by their 'first time'.

She added in an interview with Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine: "I always knew I wanted to be in love with the first person I slept with, because for almost everyone I knew, the first experience made them feel like s**t."
