Russell Crowe has responded to Adam Lambert’s criticism over Les Miserables. The singer slammed the movie’s cast for ‘pretending to be singers.’ Crowe didn’t disagree with Lambert, saying that the director wanted it ‘raw and real.’
Former American Idol star aired his disappointment with the big screen adaptation of the hit Broadway production through Twitter.
In a series of posts, Lambert said: "Les Mis Visually impressive w (with) great emotional performances. But the score suffered massively with great actors PRETENDING to be singers... it's an opera. Hollywood's movie musicals treat the singing as the last priority.”
Crowe, who was told by one of his followers in Twitter about Lambert’s posts, responded by saying: "I don't disagree with Adam, sure it could have been sweetened, Hooper wanted it raw and real, that's how it is."
