Schoolchildren typically come with excuses to get an extension for their homework. Some would fake illnesses while some would blame others for “losing” their assignment. However, little Maddie, had the best excuse ever that even the sternest of teachers would be happy with.
The note, which was shared on Imgur and was written by Maddie’s parents, stated: "Please give Maddie one more day to complete her homework. We had some big family news and did not get to this."
"Her grandpa won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry!"
The Chemistry prize was given to three scientists for their work on genetic repair – Thomas Lindahl, Paul Modrich, and Aziz Sancar. According to Facebooker Lena Kauffman, Tomas Lindahl is Maddie’s grandpa who made a family announcement last week.
So far, 1.5 million people have viewed the note on Imgur.
DoctorJungyBrongen commented: "I don't think her grandpa would be proud of her for skipping out on homework because of his accomplishments.
TheJumpjnJax added: "I am keeping that one under the best excuses for my future children for when I am a slacker parent."
