'A natural end'

Lenora Crichlow has announced her exit from BBC3‘s supernatural drama Being Human.

Viewers saw CritchlowÂ’s character, Annie finally complete her unfinished business in the fourth runÂ’s finale on Sunday.

“Sometimes, you have to just respect that a story [and] a character has come to a natural end,” said Toby Whithouse, creator of Being Human. “Lenora completely understood that and completely agreed with it.”

Crichlow, who was the only remaining original cast member agreed, adding: “I don't know if there's much more for her to do, if I'm honest. But I really will miss playing Annie - she's such a fantastic character to play.”

The BBC also confirmed that the show will return for six more episodes in 2013.

“We're delighted to have this opportunity to expand the world further and explore new characters and tell new stories. A heartfelt thank you to all the fans for their unstinting support, and to the BBC for letting us mess up the sandpit for a fifth year.”

Details of the new series are being held close to the chest but both Damien Molony, who plays vampire Hal, and Michael Socha, who plays werewolf Tom will return.

BBC3’s controller, Zai Bennett, commented: “In Being Human, Toby has created an extraordinary, funny, touching, supernatural world and I'm thrilled to be bringing it back for a fifth series.”
