Yvette Fielding has announced that she is quitting Living TV's 'Most Haunted' after eight years on the show.
Fielding was a founding member of the ghost hunting TV team which began in 2002, running for 14 series. Fielding and her husband Karl Beattie set up Antix Productions which then made the show.
The Sun newspaper attributed the reason behind her leaving as the show "failed to find enough ghosts", prompting the star presenter to move to other channels in the hope of finding more paranormal activity elsewhere.
The one-time ex-'Blue Peter' presenter said she was leaving to "move paranormal activites to the next level".
Her open letter on her official website read that she would be transferring her ghosthunting skills over to ITV2's 'Ghosthunting'.
The 41-year-old presenter joked: "That's not so much goodbye as see you on the other side!"
She continued: "It is time for me to hang up my long black coat, move on and leave Most Haunted as its presenter in order to pursue other projects."
The show was originally heralded as a serious investigation into spectres and ghost legends but has since been ruled by Ofcom as entertainment after viewers complained.
