Renee Zellweger wants to take a break from acting so she can concentrate on writing.

The stunning actress, who recently split from White Stripes frontman Jack White, says she doesn't get to be as creative as she'd like when she's in front of the camera and now wants to focus on writing.

She told America's W magazine: "I don't think that, as a creative person, you have that much to contribute when your life experiences are limited to those you have while you're emulating someone else.

"So I've asked people not to expect me to walk on to a set any time soon.

"I want to spend my time writing fiction, non-fiction, whatever I'm feeling when I pick up the pen".

Renee, 35, also admitted she still has strong feelings for ex-lover Jack - despite their recent split.

She said: "I haven't had a boyfriend since September.

"But I still I cherish him and that feeling doesn't change just because the relationship has changed."
