Terry Wogan is planning a return to TV, if Paul OÂ’Grady leaves Channel 4, it has been reported.
The DJ and presenter recently announced that he was retiring from his Radio 2 slot and would be replaced by Chris Evans.
But now sources have told The Sun newspaper that the ex-Eurovision host wishes to front a brand new 5pm chatshow on Channel Four.
The slot is currently occupied by Paul O'Grady, who, it has been reported, will not renew his contract when it expires this year.
The source said: "Terry may have retired from his early morning radio show but he is still full of beans and bursting to do other things.
"He loved doing his chatshow and has always said he'd happily do it again.”
Wogan already works for Channel Four, hosting quiz show 'Perfect Recall' in the same slot on Channel 4 when Paul OÂ’GradyÂ’s show isnÂ’t on.
He also hosted 'Wogan', a highly successful BBC1 chatshow that lasted for 10 years between 1982 and 1992.
The source added: "Everyone expects Paul O'Grady to leave Channel 4 when his contract finishes at the end of the year so that 5pm slot will be going begging."
