Amy Winehouse had no illegal drugs in her system when she died, the toxicologistÂ’s report has confirmed.

The Back to Black singer was found dead in her Camden home last month. An initial post-mortem could find no cause of the 27-year-oldÂ’s death.

The late star’s family released a statement confirming the findings: “Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death.”

“Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death. The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October.”

Shortly after her death, Tony Azzopardi, a drug fixer had claimed to had supplied Winehouse with £1,200 worth of drugs on the day of her death.

It was recently revealed that the singerÂ’s father Mitch Winehouse was forced to return donations for a planned foundation after another person registered the domain names for the proposed Amy Winehouse Foundation charity.

It has also been announced that Tony Bennett will lead the tributes to the star at this weekend's MTV Video Music Awards. He had recently recorded a duet with the late singer.

He said in a statement: "It was a thrill to record with Amy Winehouse, and when you listen to the recording of 'Body and Soul', it is a testament to her artistic genius and her brilliance as one of the most honest musicians I have ever known."
