The Black Eyed PeasÂ’ frontman will.i.am is set to produce Irish rockers U2Â’s new album, according to the latest reports.
The singer, who has a close relationship with X FactorÂ’s Cheryl Cole, is said to be over the moon to be working with the band and has said it will be a milestone in his career.
He told The Sun: “You talk about one day looking back at milestones in your career - working with those guys will be light-year stones.
“I look at U2 and think, 'Wow, I hope our group can stay together that long and still make brilliant music.”
He added that Bono was inspiring and should be “president of the world”.
Speaking about the differences in musical background, will.i.am said that he only believed in good music and that the collaboration was going to be a fantastic success.
The album is expected to be released next year.
