WhatsApp: Mobile phone users suffer ‘error’ message

Users of the WhatsApp mobile phone app have received a message concerning their contact list

Some ‘WhatsApp’ users have received a message on their mobile phone in the last week, saying that their contact list was an ‘error’, according to reports. It is thought that this was then passed around fellow users of the mobile phone app, ‘WhatApp’.

The news is that the message can be ignored, as stated by PC Advisor, after it read as: “Message from Jim Balsamic (CEO of Whatsapp): we have had an over usage of user names on whatsapp Messenger.

“We are requesting all users to forward this message to their entire contact list. If you do not forward this message, we will take it as your account is invalid and it will be deleted within the next 48 hours.

“Please DO NOT ignore this message or whatsapp will no longer recognise your activation. If you wish to re-activate your account after it has been deleted, a charge of 25.00 will be added to your monthly bill.”

WhatsApp have stated on the social network site Twitter that: “WhatsApp status functionality is currently not available. We are working on resolving it soon-ish..."

Based on a report by FirstPost, the service for some mobile phones has been fixed but there are other people who are suffering ‘error messages’.

It is understood there was a hoax in January this year with regards to ‘WhatsApp’.
