After two months of research, NeedaProperty.com has concluded that house situated on streets bearing rude names are worth an average of £84,000 less than similar properties close by.
The researchers revealed that tongue in cheek names often result in massive holes in homeowner's pockets as 60% of Britons admitted they would be 'put off living on a street if it had an embarrassing name'.
The flipside to the coin is that there could be potential bargains lurking on the likes of Cockshoot Close and Minge Lane.
NeedaProperty.com's Scott Green was quoted by The Daily Mirror: “Whilst living in a street with a rude name might be a fun conversation starter or source of dinner party banter, it might not be so good when it comes to selling your house.
“However, with an embarrassing street name causing such a big difference in a property’s value, it seems there are bargains to be had for those who don’t mind a bit of innuendo.”
The poll of over 2,000 British adults resulted in a list of the top 15 streets they’d be most embarrassed to live on.
