17-year-old Meyagi Baker is accused of armed robbery after he tried to rob a 60-year-old man in New Orleans. However, he did not succeed as he fell asleep in the middle of his own crime and woke up being arrested.
Based on the report, the suspect approached the victim early Monday morning and forced him at gunpoint to accompany his to an ATM on 1900 block of Josephine Street.
Initially, Baker said that the victim owed him money so he asked the 60-year-old man for the owed amount. After complying, he was asked by Baker to withdraw the rest of his money. After doing what he was told, he turned around and saw Baker sleeping where he stood. The victim called the police at approximately 4:20am.
According to UptownMessenger.com, Baker was “arrested afterward and charged with a single count of armed robbery with a firearm, a conviction for which carries a mandatory sentence of 10 to 99 years.”
