Eleanor Cunningham celebrated her 100th birthday by skydiving in Gansevoort, New York and in the process attracted international media attention.
She kissed her seven-month-old great-great granddaughter before suiting up for the jump, which happened to be her third. She took up the sport at the age of 90.
Cunningham, who lives with her daughter, was reportedly very excited about the jump which was done with tandem master Dean McDonald of Saratoga Skydiving. He said that Cunningham was his oldest jump partner yet.
Cunningham, who has 25 great grandchildren, credits her longevity to being a vegetarian and being around young people.
Her doctor signed off on the skydiving expedition telling her 'that she was more than capable of doing what she loves.'
