Weather postpones RAF museum project

Unlike the RAF project, shopping trips don’t need to be postponed thanks to technology.

The RAF museum has had the plan to raise a German bomber from the English Channel, but hasn’t been able to proceed due to the unfortunate weather and high winds. The project continues to be delayed.

 

While this is the plight for the German bomber, we can be thankful that other things in life aren’t so easily thwarted by weather.

 

Shopping is much easier when considering the capabilities of technology. Online shopping with credit cards is quick, painless, and doesn’t even require you to step outside. Here are a few ways to use your credit card online, but to still contribute to your local economy. 

 

• Local stores-you may be surprised to find out which stores in your neighbourhood offer what you want, and still allow you to shop online. You can call or ask the next time you visit a favourite store to see if they have a website. Even if they don’t, they may consider starting one if many people request the option and want to shop from home with their credit card.

 

• Gifts-the wonderful part about shopping online is that you are able to order gifts for people and surprise them. Many sites also allow you to ship to a different location so you can send it right to the recipient, and often you can choose an option for gift wrapping, then easily pay with a credit card. 

 

• National retailers-if you have a favourite place to shop, and it is a major retailer, you can shop online, but you might be able to have it available for pick-up and payment at your local store. That way, you ensure that when you’re shopping with your credit card that the funds will be credited to your local store. 

 

• Special occasions-if you need catering, party supplies, entertainment, you can usually find websites that will allow you to book the necessary entities for your special occasion while making sure that you are hiring local people, so again using the credit card at a site like that will make sure funds stay local.
