Many families are still grappling with the apparent rise in cost of living owing to the abolishment of cheap fixed rate mortgages and a rising cost of fuel. This translates to fewer finances available for families at the end of the month. The situation is worse if you are nurturing children because you can hardly keep them occupied with limited finances. In all these struggles, it is important to keep in mind that your time with the kids is more significant than the monies.
You can achieve to manage your kids with limited finances by doing some free or greatly subsidized activities with them, either indoors or outdoors.
In-house Activities
You can decide to stay in-house and carry out simple activities with them such as painting, drawing or even playing Lego together with them. You could also spend quality time together by taking them for a walk in the park if the weather can allow. If the kids are older, you can find them heavily subsidized sporting undertakings at the local council.
Afterschool Stuff
Look out for affordable clubs and other afterschool undertakings around your area. These are cheap ways of keeping kids busy, although some of these activities might need uniforms which can be expensive. You can also elect to visit the nearby recreational centre for swimming and other leisure activities.
Library
A visit to the library is also beneficial to the kids. Instruct them to select books of their own choice to read at the library’s kids' zone or to take home with. Some libraries may get your teens occupied over the weekend with special activities such as the teen hour.
Cinemas
Cinemas may have greatly subsidized cinema viewing for kids too i.e. cut-price viewing of movies that were released few months back and are re-released for kids’ viewing. You could also find interesting kids’ activities such as face painting, card making before showings commence.
It is important that you seek help if you are struggling to make ends meet and manage your kids.
