Vladimir Putin confirmed divorce with wife

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife Lyudmila have confirmed they are divorced.

After 30 years of marriage, Russian President Vladimir Putin and wife Lyudmila decided to end their marriage. The couple made the decision public on Russian state television after they have attended a ballet performance.

 

The couple confirmed that they are no longer living together when the interviewer asked questions, as quoted in one report by The Independent: "You are so rarely seen together and there are rumours that you are no longer together. Is that true?"

 

Mr Putin responded saying: “Yes, it is.”

 

"I agree with the words of Vladimir Vladimirovich, and it was a joint decision," said MsPutina. 

 

She added: "Vladimir Vladimirovich is completely drowned in work.” 

 

"I am very grateful to Vladimir... that he still supports me. And the children, he really cares for them and the children feel this.”
