Vin Diesel has signed up for a third 'xXx' movie, it has been reported.
After opting to bow out of the second film, Diesel will reprise the role of Xander Cage in the third instalment of the action flick, which is set to be filmed in 3D.
Also making a comeback to the franchise is original filmmaker Rob Cohen.
In the 2005 sequel, 'xXx: State of the Union', Ice Cube took over the lead role from Diesel, while Lee Tamahori directed.
The third 'xXx' movie will be shot with 3D cameras, following in the new trend set by the likes of 'Avatar' and 'Alice in Wonderland', and is expected to hit cinemas in 2012.
Speaking to Deadline, Cohen said: "I feel what we did in the beginning of the decade was bring a different attitude to the action movie and a different kind of hero.
"With the new 3D instrument and the techniques I can apply, we can create a different kind of cutting-edge experience in 3D by shooting it that way from the beginning the way James Cameron did 'Avatar'."
The hardman actor has a string of projects in the pipeline, including a reprise for the character Riddick, in the 'Chronicles of Riddick' series, as well as returning as Dominic Toretto for a fifth 'Fast and the Furious' film.
