VIDEO: Material Girl crashes off the BRIT Awards stage backwards in disastrous performance

Madonna explained that the disaster was because 'my beautiful cape was tied too tight.'

Madonna was pulled off the stage backwards as she was performing at BRIT Awards 2015 on Wednesday. She fell off the stage, landing heavily when she failed to untie her cape in time for her dancers to rip it away as she took to the stage at London’s 02 Arena.

The Material Girl singer fell down a set of stairs and look shocked after the accident. She stopped singing as her dancers looked very concerned. However, the 53-year-old hitmaker picked herself back up and continued to a defiant end.

The legendary singer just laughed off the incident. On her Instagram page, she wrote: 'Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine! #livingforlove.'

However, she was disappointed because she was “desperate to give the performance of her life” as rehearsals piled on the pressure.

A source said: 'She is putting all her efforts into putting on a great show. She is working every hour, day and night, to ensure it will be her part of the show that everyone will be talking and tweeting about.'
