Motor oil is useful for lubricating engine parts so cars and other machineries run smoothly. However, did you know that used motor oil can be one of the sources of oil pollution when it is in different bodies of water?
Pollution could harm animals, plants, and even humans.
Polluted soil becomes less productive, and if used oil finds its way to bodies of water, it can create a film that blockslights that animals and fish need to grow.
What you can do to help save the environment? Make sure that used oil doesn’t get into bodies of water.
You can do your part by simply checking your engine (or have it checked periodically) to ensure that it’s not leaking.
Make it a habit to look for oil stains under your car, boat, lawn mower, ATV, weed trimmers, and anything other machines that use motor oil.
If you’ve found that your car or other machineries are leaking oil, take action right away. If you don’t have the needed skills to fix your engines, get help or see a professional.
