Photographer Alexandria Hall’s phone number was mistakenly used on a UKIP billboard and just like that, she became the target of several hate calls that were intended for the political group.
She said: ‘People started calling me a racist and swearing at me for no reason.’
Alexandria, who does not work for UKIP, realised that her number was mistakenly used when a councillor from Surrey called her to actually talk about the potholes mentioned in the billboard campaign. She then called UKIP who apologised for the mistake that was blamed on the printing company.
However, instead of correcting the mistake right away, UKIP allegedly made a rather strange request.
‘The UKIP officer suggested that I could forward the callers on to the correct number as if I was some sort of admin service.”
UKIP is yet to comment on the issue.
