The Institute for Economics and Peace has released Britain’s five most peaceful local authorities. The UK Peace Index, which was released on Monday, 22nd April, states that Broadland is the most peaceful area with regards to this.
As referred to by the BBC, the report found that when it comes to murder and violent crime, this has decreased faster in Britain in the last 10 years compared to Western Europe.
Aside from Broadland (which is in Norfolk) being top of the researchers list of the most peaceful, the least peaceful were also mentioned.
In particular, the study claims that London areas were included on the list for least peaceful local authority areas.
Although with this in mind, reportedly it is thought that Lewisham is now more peaceful than it was a decade ago with certain violent crimes rates having fallen.
