Supermodel Claudia Schiffer has confirmed the news that she has given birth to her third child with British film director Matthew Vaughn.

Born on Friday, the newborn represents their second daughter.

The German beauty and the 'Kiss-Ass' director already have a son Caspar, seven, and a daughter Clementine, five.

A statement from the couple said: "Claudia Schiffer and Matthew Vaughn are proud to announce the birth of their baby daughter who was born on Friday May 14 in the early afternoon.

"Mother and baby are doing well."

Schiffer gave birth at the Portland Hospital in central London.

In related news, actress Amy Adams has also given birth to a baby girl.

The two-time Oscar nominee for 'Doubt' and 'Junebug' welcomed her 7lb daughter Aviana Olea Legallo with fianc Darren Legallo.

The 35-year-old star of 'Julie and Julia' gave birth on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Adams' rep stated: "Mom and baby are home and doing great. Everyone's healthy and happy."
