Two soldiers have died during a training exercise in the Brecon Beacons, Powys, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence said: “The MoD can confirm that it is working with Dyfed Powys Police to investigate an incident during a training exercise on the Brecon Beacons on Saturday in which two members of military personnel died.”
It has been reported that supposedly the two soldiers were serving with the Territorial Army.
It is understood that a third individual was taken to hospital.
An investigation is underway in regards to the matter which happened in Powys on Saturday, 13th July. It is thought that this occurred as a result of the hot weather, as the UK has seen hot days recently.
Mountain rescue teams attended the situation.
It is believed that the military use the Brecon Beacons for training among other areas. It is situated in South Wales. The Infantry Battle School in Brecon is there also.
