Elliott Tittensor, a star of the Channel 4 drama 'Shameless', has been arrested after a hit-and-run incident left a victim in critical condition.
Tittensor, who plays Carl Gallagher on the show, allegedly hit an 18-year-old man with his BMW Z4 in Kentish Town, north London, at 2AM on Sunday.
A source told The Sun: "Tittensor apparently deliberately drove his car straight at him. Though he was only driving slowly, the boy went up on the bonnet, rolled into the road and struck his head on the kerb."
The victim was taken to the nearby Royal Free Hospital hospital with head injuries where his condition was described as serious but stable but is believed to have lost the sight in both eyes.
Tittensor voluntarily went to a police station. He was given bail later on Sunday.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called to reports of a collision involving a BMW Z4 and a pedestrian.
"An 18-year-old man was taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital suffering from head injuries."
The spokesman continued: "The male driver did not stop at the scene.
"He later handed himself into officers at a central London police station and was arrested in connection with the collision."
The actor first found fame when he appeared alongside his identical twin brother, Luke, in 'Brookside'.
